Privacy note
Simple game. Minimal data.
What QuizMyQuirks stores
Your ten choices, calculated profile, a random result link, and pseudonymous product events such as starting, finishing, sharing, and the question number reached. A random session identifier groups activity within a browser tab. We also store the referring result link and a broad source label, such as a copied link or a labeled social campaign, to understand how people discover the game.
Optional nicknames, no contact access
You may choose a nickname that appears with your public results and comparisons. It is not verified; avoid sensitive information. No email address, account, contacts, or precise location is required. QuizMyQuirks does not use advertising trackers or sell personal information.
Public links and private collections
Anyone with an invitation can view the result and compare choices. Anyone with a match link can view that pair’s profiles, nicknames, and answers. Neither grants access to the private collection. Completing a comparison adds it to both participants’ collections when both have a collection.
Remembering your browser
A secure, HTTP-only cookie gives this browser access to your server-stored collection without a login. On a shared browser, another person may access the same collection. We store hashes of access and recovery secrets. A private recovery link grants access to your whole collection, so keep it private. Clearing cookies without a recovery link can permanently lose access. Recovery can connect another browser; it does not merge collections. Replacing a recovery link invalidates the old link but not already connected browsers.
Availability and retention
Results are available for 180 days from completion. A comparison expires when either result expires. Collections expire after 180 days of inactivity. Expired records and usage events are removed in batches during subsequent activity; physical deletion may occur later than access expiration. Retakes are separate records. There is no small match-count cap, but storage availability, retention, and fair-use limits apply. Rate limiting uses short-lived hashed network identifiers, not stored raw IP addresses, in the application database. Hosting infrastructure may maintain its own operational logs.
Why usage events are collected
They show where people finish, leave, share, or complete a friend comparison. We also record when the original sender first opens a completed comparison from their remembered or restored collection. This is linked to the stored comparison and collection, which may include an optional nickname; it does not require a real name, email address, or account.
Entertainment, not assessment
QuizMyQuirks offers playful preference quizzes, not a psychological or medical assessment.
